View the websiteI designed and developed the a portfolio for interior designer Jules O'Reilly. I made the flats in Photoshop, and then created a Wordpress website using Advanced Custom Fields, Foundation for the grid, and Photoswipe for viewing images.
View the websiteI worked with investigative journalists Ken Foxe and Craig Hughes, and designer Marcus swan, to create a number of stories. Some, like Taxing Matters and Suicide: The Figures, were longform explainer pieces that used D3.js. Others were databases made in AngularJS from CSV files.
Taxing Matters No Expenses Spared: Part 2 Suicide: The FiguresDeveloped the results pages for the 2014 local elections, by-elections in 2014 and 2015, and the same-sex marriage referendum in 2015. Used a number of technologies, including AngularJS apps that read results JSON to create real-time results pages as well as D3.js for displaying results data. Collaborated with designer Mark Hennessy, as well as the RTÉ News journalists.
Same-sex marriage referendum Carlow-Kilkenny By-ElectionDeveloped a site using Wordpress and later Drupal to manage content. Used CSS3, HTML5, Photoshop and Illustrator to create a new online brand. Developed and oversaw the launch of an online catalogue of interiors products. Integrated Paypal and geo-location features for vendors and a bookmarking system for readers. Configured Apache Solr for directory indexing and browsing.
Developed an Android application with Java and Eclipse IDE as part of a group masters project. Worked as part of a team, acting as front end developer and designer. Used wireframes and storyboards to plan and optimise user experience. Used compatibility libraries to support older devices and fragments to create tablet layouts. Used Songkick and Twitter APIs to gather data.
